Her obituary appeared on 12 Apr 1987 in the Watertown Daily Times of Watertown, Jefferson, NY, as follows: "Antwerp Native Myrtle Belmore, 70, Dies. Gouverneur -- Mrs. Myrtle R. Belmore, 70, Somerville Road, died Friday evening at Carthage Area Hospital.
"The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Green Funeral Home, with Rev. Stanley E. Brown, pastor of United Church of Richville, officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Antwerp.
"There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
"Surviving are five sons, Stanley W., Warren and William, all of Gouverneur, Weldon, Canton, and Wendell, Rochester; 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a brother, Merton Brotherton, Carthage.
"She was born Aug. 18, 1916 at Antwerp, a daughter of Horace and Blanche Ward Brotherton. She attended schools at Russell and Gouverneur and attended Watertown School of Business.
"She was employed several years by Northeast Construction Co., Gouverneur.
"A marriage to Stanley Belmore ended in divorce." Her reference number is 1210 in the Ira Johnson Genealogy. She was buried in Hillside cemetery, Antwerp, Jefferson, NY.

Myrtle R. Brotherton and Stanley "Curly" Belmore were married on 25 Jan 1939. They were divorced. Stanley "Curly" Belmore (son of Ernest Belmore and Maude Sanford) was born on 15 Aug 1915 in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY. He died on 8 Jan 1990 in Somerville, St. Lawrence, NY. His obituary appeared on 10 Jan 1990 in the Watertown Daily Times of Watertown, Jefferson, NY, as follows: "Stanley Belmore Rites Scheduled Thursday. Somerville. The funeral for Stanley "Curly" Belmore, 74, Barker's Trailer Park, former Gouverneur taxi service operator, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur, with the Rev. Anthony Sarnicola, pastor of the Fowler Baptist Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Antwerp.
"Mr. Belmore died Monday afternoon at his home.
"Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County Inc., P.O. Box 677, Watertown, 13601.
"Surviving are five sons, Wayne and William, both of Somerville, Warren, Gouverneur, Weldon, Canton, and Wendell, Rochester; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild, and a brother, Vernon E. "Jumbo" Belmore, Gouverneur. Three sisters, Venita Temple, Alberta Dancause and Ercile Griffith, and a nephew, Norman E. Belmore, died previously.
"Born in Gouverneur on Aug. 15, 1915, a son of Ernest and Maude Sanford Belmore, he attended Gouverneur schools. Mr. Belmore was employed at a paper mill in Deferiet and at the Gouverneur Talc Co. He also worked on the construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway. He operated a taxi service in Gouverneur for several years, and was last employed at Central Garage, Gouverneur.
"Mr. Belmore resided in Heuvelton for 10 years. He had lived at Barker's Trailer Park for five months.
His wife, the former Myrtle R. Brotherton, died April 10, 1987."
He was buried in Hillside cemetery, Antwerp, Jefferson, NY. Myrtle R. Brotherton and Stanley "Curly" Belmore had the following children:
