208. Keith G. Manning was born on 18 Nov 1921 in Hermon, St. Lawrence, NY. He died on 10 Nov 2000 in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY. His obituary appeared on 11 Nov 2000 in the Watertown Daily Times, as follows: "KEITH G. MANNING TALC COMPANY RETIREE. GOUVERNEUR. Keith G. Manning, 78, of 256 Clinton St., died Friday at Edward John Noble Hospital.
"Mr. Manning retired from Gouverneur Talc Co., Balmat, in 1987 as a senior stock clerk and was a World War II veteran.
"He was a charter and life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6338, which he joined in 1946. He served on many house and post committees and the firing squad, assisted the bingo group and held the offices of post adjutant, chaplain, junior and senior vice commander and post commander. He also was a former treasurer for Boy Scout Troop 80, which the post sponsored.
"Mr. Manning also was a member of First United Methodist Church and served on its board of stewards, a member of Gouverneur Elks Lodge and a member of Barney Pond Hunting and Fishing Club.
"In the 1960s, he was a scorekeeper for go-kart races. He enjoyed watching wildlife, hunting, swimming, gardening, traveling and hiking.
"Born Nov. 18, 1921, in Beartown, town of Hermon, son of George and Dorothy Woods Manning, he attended Breese District School, graduated in 1939 from Richville High School and attended George Hall Trade School, Ogdensburg.
"He worked on his parents' farm before moving to Baltimore, Md., where he worked for Glenn L. Martin Co. for three years in the construction of airplane bodies. He then served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946, stationed at Okinawa.
"Mr. Manning worked again on the family farm before being employed by Stewart Construction Co. on a concrete crew, which assisted in the building of Gouverneur Talc Co., Balmat. He went to work in 1948 at the talc company's mill.
"He married Joann A. Hawn on July 1, 1951, at First Methodist Church with the Rev. William Wood officiating. The couple lived at 38 E. Barney St. for 48 years before moving to their present home. They also had a cottage at Trout Lake.
"Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Keith D. and Lonnie, both of Gouverneur; two daughters, Kimber Manning, Fowler, and Louann Manning, Gouverneur; four grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
"The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Green Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan D. Kinney, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Richville.
"Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
"Donations may be made to First United Methodist Church or a charity of one's choice." He was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Richville, St. Lawrence, NY.

Keith G. Manning and Joann A. Hawn were married on 1 Jul 1951 in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY. "Miss Joann Hawn Wed Here Sunday. Miss Joann A. Hawn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Hawn, Scotch Settlement road, was married to Keith Manning, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Manning, Old DeKalb road, Sunday afternoon at 2 in the First Methodist church, Gouverneur, with the Rev. William C. Wood, officiating. A reception for 100 guests followed the ceremony.
"Attending the couple were Mrs. Marion Gorman, Watertonw, matron of honor, and Marvin Witherill of DePeyster, best man. Ushers were William Hawn and Kay and Chelson Putman, Pope Mills.
"The bride wore a white frosted organdy floor length frock fashioned with long sleeves and a Peter Pan collar. Her white illusion veil fell from a small pearl cap. She carried red roses. Mrs. Gorman was dressed in orchid taffeta with yellow roses. Miss Judy Hawn, sister of the bride, wore yellow taffeta with pink roses. Miss Carolyn Davis and miss Marlyn davis, of Richville, dressed in pink and blue frocks and carrying mixed flowers, were flower girls.
"Mrs. Hawn, mother of the bride, wore a green and violet print dress with pink roses, and Mrs. Manning, a black and white print with pink roses.
"The bride graduated Tuesday from the Gouverneur High school. the bridegroom is now employed by the Gouverneur Talc company.
"Following a wedding trip, the couple will reside on Clinton street, Gouverneur." [from an unknown newspaper.] Joann A. Hawn (daughter of William F. Hawn and Mary Belle Mills) was born. Keith G. Manning and Joann A. Hawn had the following children:
