Gilligan, 48, of 121 Orchard St., will be held at the family's convenience. The body was cremated.
"Mr. Gilligan died Thursday evening at Samaritan Medical Center, where he was admitted Tuesday. He was stricken with cancer in January.
"There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.
"Born Aug. 14, 1950, in Watertown, a son of Harold L. and Shirley P. Durante Gilligan, he attended Watertown High School. He married Watertown resident Jodie L. Cornell on Aug. 21, 1980, at Stone Street Presbyterian Church. The couple separated.
"After leaving school, he did construction work in the Watertown area and moved in 1995 to Las Vegas, Nev., where he worked in construction.
"Mr. Gilligan returned to Watertown earlier this week.
"Surviving besides his mother and his wife are a son, Stephen J., Watertown; six brothers, Richard P., Selkirk, David A., Carthage, Harold L. Jr., Dexter, and Patrick M., Michael R., and Dennis L., all of Watertown; a sister, Mrs. Antonio (Gail) Arvizo, California; and nieces and nephews.
"Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 425 Washington St., Watertown, N.Y. 13601."
He was cremated.
