Her obituary appeared on 7 Jan 1989 in the Watertonw Daily Times of Watertown, Jefferson, NY, as follows: "Carol M. Denner Memorial Rites To Be Set. Plessis. A memorial service for Carol M. Denner, 72, Bearup Road, widow of Lawrence R. Denner, who died Thursday afternoon at the Edward John Noble Hospital, Alexandria Bay, will be at a later date at the Plessis Methodist Church. There will be no funeral or calling hours.
"Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Chippewa Bay, at a later date.
"Contributions may be made to the Redwood Rescue Squad.
"Arrangements are with the Frederick Brothers Funeral Home, Theresa.
"Surviving are two sons, Richard and Douglas, both of Plessis; two daughters, Mrs. Bert (Cheryl) Davis, Plessis, and Mrs. Lewis (Janet) Vaughan, Hopewell, Va.; a brother, Carson Johnston, New York City; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
"Born Feb. 22, 1916, in Rossie, a daughter of Walter M. and Agnes Manning Johnston, she attended and was graduated from Hammond High School.
"She married Lawrence R. Denner on Oct. 30, 1937. Mr. and Mrs. Denner farmed in the Alexandria Bay-Theresa areas. After their retirement, they moved to Plessis in 1975.
"Mr. Denner died Dec. 12, 1981.
"Mrs. Denner was a member of the Plessis Methodist Church." She was buried in Pleasant View cemetery, Hammond, St. Lawrence, NY.

Carol Johnston and Lawrence Denner were married on 30 Oct 1937. Lawrence Denner (son of Alden Denner and Greta Ella Beckstead) was born on 7 Sep 1915 in Leray, Jefferson Co, NY. He died on 12 Dec 1981 in Alexandria Bay, Jefferson, NY. His obituary appeared on 12 Dec 1981 in the Watertown Daily Times of Watertown, Jefferson, NY, as follows: "L. R. Denner Dies at 66. Theresa -- Lawrence R. Denner, 66, R.D. 2, Theresa, died at 5:03 a.m. today at Edward John Noble Hospital, Alexandria Bay, where he had been a patient since Dec. 10 after being in failing health for two years.
"His body was donated to medical science. There will be a memorial service at the Plessis Methodist at the convenience of the family. Donations in his memory may be made to the Plessis Methodist Church.
"He is survived by his wife, Carol; three sons, Richard and Douglas, both of Plessis, Donald, of Alexandria Bay; two daughters, Mrs. Sheryl Davis, Plessis, and Mrs. Janet Burnett, Hopewell, Va.; 16 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Hunter, Redwood and Mrs. Gladyss Fear, Hopewell, Va. A son, Robert, died Oct. 29.
"Mr. Denner [was] born Sept. 7, 1915 in the Evans Mills area, one of the 12 children of the later Alvin Denner and Greta Beckstead Denner. He was educated in local schools. He was married Oct. 30, 1937, to Carol Johnston of South Hammond. The couple farmed in the Alexandria Bay and Theresa areas and was also employed by Ken Brown and Sons, Theresa, for a number of years. He retired three years ago."
