326. Basil Orson Klock was born on 23 Oct 1917 in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY. He died on 25 Sep 1973. His obituary appeared on 26 Sep 1973 in the Watertown Daily Times of Watertown, Jefferson, NY, as follows: "Basil O. Klock Dies. Gouverneur -- Basil O. Klock, 55, Theresa, R.D. 1, driver for the Borello Trucking Co., Watertown, died Tuesday afternoon in the Gouverneur Edward John Noble Hospital, where he had been admitted Tuesday morning.
"The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Burr-Green Funeral Home, Rev. Stanley E. Brown, pastor, United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
"Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
"Surviving are his widow, Bernice Davenport Klock; two sons, George, Antwerp, R.D., and Wendall, at home; three daughters, Florence, Jane, and Dawn, and a stepson, Lloyd Davenport, all at home; five step-daughters, Melody Davenport, at home, Lorna Davenport, and Mrs. John (Sharon) Peabody, both of Rock Hill, Mrs. Arnold (Debra) Jones and Mrs. David (Mary) Dimon, both of Theresa, his mother, Mrs. Edna Klock, Gouverneur; six brothers, George, Fine, Maurice and Donald, Balmat, Henry, and Frederick, Philadelphia; six sisters, Mrs. Sterling (Odetta) Sharp and Mrs. Merrill (Beverly) Sharp, both of Madrid, Mrs. Howard (Lucinda) Dennee and Mrs. Robert (Zelphia) McIntosh, Gouverneur, Mrs. Allen (Martha) Pedroza, Oxbow, and Mrs. David (Frances) Dudley, Auburn.
"Born at Gouverneur, Oct. 23, 1917, a son of George and Edna Klock, he attended schools at Gouverneur and worked on farms in the Potsdam section from 1938 until moving to Gouverneur in 1941. Mr. Klock was employed by International Talc Co. from 1941 to 1957, farmed on the farm to Market Road from 1951 to 1968 and operated a milk route.
"He moved to Theresa, R.D., in 1968 and had been working as a driver for the Borello Trucking Firm. He married Bernice Davenport in 1961 at Gouverneur. Rev. Stanley E. Brown officiated." He was buried in Riverside cemetery, Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY. Sometimes known as "Bates"; shown as Bates Klock in his father's obituary.

Basil Orson Klock and Emily Kellogg were married on 29 Jun 1938. They were separated. Emily Kellogg (daughter of Herbert Kellogg and Nellie Harris) was born on 24 Feb 1918 in Antwerp, Jefferson, NY. She died on 14 Feb 1992 in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY. Her obituary appeared on 15 Feb 1992 in the Watertown Daily Times of Watertown, Jefferson, NY, as follows: "Antwerp Native Emily Klock Dies At Age 73. Gouverneur. Emily Klock, 73, Kearney Road, died Friday at home.
"The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur, with the Rev. Frank I. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oxbow Cemetery, Oxbow.
"Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
"Surviving are her son, George H. Klock, Gouverneur; two sisters, Mary Linley, DePeyster, and Mabel Shampine, Troy; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two nephews; and three nieces.
"Two brothers died before her. They were Charles and Walter Kellogg.
"She was born in Antwerp on Feb. 24, 1918, to Herbert and Nellie Harris Kellogg.
"She married Basil Klock on June 29, 1938. The marriage ended in separation.
"The Klocks farmed in Potsdam and Gouverneur. She worked for several years in Syracuse at Enrico's Restaurant, the Jefferson-Clinton Hotel and the Hotel Syracuse.
"She lived in Gouverneur for 20 years and for the last several years with her son." She was buried in Oxbow cemetery, Oxbow, Jefferson, NY. Basil Orson Klock and Emily Kellogg had the following children:
