NY, as follows: "Truman F. Salisbury. Rossie. Truman F. Salisbury,
85, Cambridge, Md., formerly of Rossie, died Wednesday at Chesapeake Woods Center,
Cambridge.
"Mr. Salisbury was engaged in farming in the Rossie-Hammond area. He
was then self-employed before going to work as a truck driver for W.J. Scott,
Gouverneur, Moore Northern Haulers and W.T. Byrns, both of Watertown, Associated
Transport and C&K Brokerage, both of Gouverneur, and for the town of Rossie.
In Cambridge, he worked as a security guard at Bennett Security and was employed
as a conveyor belt assembler at Maryland Wire Belts, Church Creek, Md. He retired
February 1996 and had resided at Chesapeake Woods Center since March 2000.
"Born Sept. 15, 1916, in Hammond, son of Fred E. and Hazel Manning Salisbury,
he attended school in Hammond.
"He married Jane G. Butler on Oct. 11, 1939, at St. Paul's Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Redwood, with the Rev. Richard F. Henderson officiating. The
couple moved to Cambridge in November 1983.
"He was a member of Cambridge Masonic Lodge 66, Pisgah Chapter 126 Order
of the Eastern Star, and member and past governor of Cambridge Moose Lodge 1211.
"Surviving besides his wife are a son, James R. Salisbury, Cambridge;
three daughters, Janet Rae Steeves, Gray, Maine, Joyce Ann Baker, Rossie, and
Jari Avis Robbins, Cambridge; three sisters, Leah Simonds, Alexandria Bay, Doris
Ayen, Watertown, and Leona Blosenhauer, Holley; a brother, Glenn Salisbury, Watertown,
10 grandchildren, a step-grandchild, 15 great-grandchildren, a step- great-grandchild,
three great-great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
"Three brothers and a step- grandson died before him.
"A Masonic memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Thomas Funeral
Home, Cambridge, followed by a funeral service with the Rev. David Wooten officiating,
at the funeral home. Burial at a later time will be in East New Market Cemetery.
"A calling hour will be before the service at the funeral home.
"Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 213 W. Main St.,
No. 205, Salisbury, Md. 21801-4871." He was buried in Maryland. Truman
F. Salisbury and Jane Butler TWIN were married on 11 Oct 1939 in Redwood, Jefferson,
NY. "Mr. & Mrs. T. F. Salisbury, 50 Years. Rossie--Mr. and
Mrs. Truman F. Salisbury, 815 Locust St., Cambridge, Md., formerly of Rossie
and Hammond, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Wednesday.
"The couple will celebrate the occasion from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 14 at the
Veterans Foreign Wars post in Cambridge.
"Mr. Salisbury, son of the late Fred and Hazel Manning Salisbury, and
Jane Butler, daughter of Ben Butler, Alexandria Bay, and the late Ruth Typhair
Butler, were married Oct. 11, 1939, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Redwood, with the Rev. Richard F. Henderson officiating.
"Attendants were Hazel Salisbury, mother of the bridegroom, and Hattie
M. Henderson.
"Mrs. Salisbury was employed as a waitress at Alexandria Bay for 14 summers.
"Mr. Salisbury was engaged in farming in the Rossie-Hammond area. He
was then self-employed before going to work as a truck driver for W. J. Scott,
Gouverneur, Moore Northern Haulers and W. T. Byrns, both of Watertown, Associated
Transport and C. & K Brokerage, both of Gouverneur, and for the Town of Rossie.

"The couple moved to Cambridge in November 1983.
"Mr. and Mrs. Salisbury are avid travelers. They are also members of
the Antwerp Senior Citizens, Choptank Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post
7460 and American Legion Post 61, Cambridge, and the Cambridge Moose Lodge. Mrs.
Salisbury is a member of Pisgah chapter 164, Order of the Eastern Star, Evans
Mills, and Mr. Salisbury is active in the Cambridge Masonic Lodge.
The couple has four children, Jari Salizar and James R., both of Cambridge,
Mrs. Keith (Joyce) Baker, Farmington, and Mrs. Jerry (Janet) Steeves, Gray, Maine.
They also have 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren." Jane
Butler TWIN (daughter of Benjamin Butler and Ruth Leota Typhair) was a foster
child of Herman and Bessie Hunter, from an early age. Truman F. Salisbury
