189. Grace Elizabeth Brotherton was born on 2 Aug 1889 in Pamelia, Jefferson, NY. She died on 8 Aug 1975 in Watertown, Jefferson, NY. She was buried in N. Watertown cemetery, Watertown, Jefferson, NY. Her obituary appeared 8 & 9 Aug 1975 in the Watertown Daily Times, as follows: "Woman Expires. Mrs. Grace B. Weston, 86, of the Weaver Road, widow of Claude C. Weston, died at 9:35 this morning at the House of the Good Samaritan where she had been admitted May 13. She had been in failing health three months.
"Arrangements are with the Reed and Benoit Funeral Home.
"She is survived by a son, Orville Weston, 1020 Huntington St.; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Hildred) Warner, 207 N. Pleasant St., and Mrs. Jack (Betty) Robbins, Weaver Road, with whom she had resided; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson. A brother, Charlie Brotherton, died Sept. 26, 1962, at the age of 75.
"Born Aug. 2, 1889, in the Town of Pamelia, the daughter of Edward and Etta Gould Brotherton, she attended Brownville schools, Watertown High School and the Watertown School of Commerce. She was married to Claude C. (Buck) Weston, July 4, 1907, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. J. Foster Wilcox officiating. The couple resided in Syracuse and Dexter, moving to Watertown in 1911.
"Mr. Weston, a retired Bagley and Sewall (Black Clawson) employee died Dec. 11, 1971, at the age of 85 years.
"Mrs. Weston was an active member of the Pocahontas and Emmanuel Congregational Church, having served as president and secretary of a women's circle of the church."
"Mrs. Weston's Funeral Set. The funeral for Mrs. Grace Elizabeth Weston, 86, who died Friday at the House of the Good Samaritan will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Reed and Benoit Funeral Home, with Rev. Graham Hodges of Emmanuel Congregational Church officiating.
"Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 this evening and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
"Donations may be made in Mrs. Weston's name to the Emmanuel Congregational Church music fund or the cancer society."

Grace Elizabeth Brotherton and Claude C. "Buck" Weston were married on 4 Jul 1907 in Watertown, Jefferson, NY. "Couple Wed 60 Years Is Honored. Mr. and Mrs. Claude C. Weston, Weaver road, were honored at an open house Sunday at Fellowship hall of Emmanuel Congregational church in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary.
"The couple's three children, some of their nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren attended the reception. Relatives from Canada came, as did a couple from Maine who had lived in the Weston home during the war. a telephone call was received form North Carolina from other former tenants.
"On July 1, 1907, Miss Grace Brotherton and Mr. Weston were married in the First Baptist church by Rev. J. Foster Wilcox, then pastor.
"Mr. Weston observed his 81st birthday on June 13. He was born in Limerick, a son of John and Mary Pallen Weston, but spent most of his childhood in Dexter. Mrs. Weston will celebrate her 78th birthday on Aug. 2. She was born near Glen Park.
"After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Weston lived in Syracuse and Dexter before moving to Watertown in 1911, where he entered the employ of the Bagley and Sewall company. He retired from there in 1951.
"Mr. and Mrs. Weston are both in good health and active. Mr. Weston only a few years ago gave up his active bowling career. Mrs. Weston has been active in several lodges and has a number of craft hobbies. Both have enjoyed gardening.
"The couple's three children are Orville G. Weston, 1020 Huntington street; Mrs. Gerald C. (Hildred) Warner, 207 North Pleasant street; and Mrs. Jack E. (Betty) Robbins, Weaver road." [Watertown Daily Times, 11 Jul 1967] Claude C. "Buck" Weston (son of John Weston and Mary Pallen) was born on 13 Jun 1886 in Limerick, Jefferson, NY. He died on 11 Dec 1971 in Watertown, Jefferson, NY. His obituary appeared on 13 Dec 1971 in the Watertown Daily Times, as follows: "C. Weston Dies at 85. Claude (Buck) C. Weston, 85, of the Weaver Road, retired employee of the old Bagley & Sewall Co. plant died Saturday night at 9:30 in the House of the Good Samaritan, where he had been a patient since Nov. 29. Death was attributed to infirmities of old age.
"The funeral will be at 1 on Tuesday afternoon at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Rev. Graham R. Hodges, pastor of the Emmanuel Congregational Church, will officiate. Burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery.
"Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
"Donations may be made in Mr. Weston's name to either the memorial fund or the scholarship fund of the Emmanuel Congregational Church.
"Surviving Mr. Weston are his widow, Mrs. Grace E. Brotherton Weston; three children, Orville G. Weston, 1020 Huntington St., Mrs. Gerald C. (Hildred A.) Warner, 207 N. Pleasant St., and Mrs. Jack E. (Betty) Robbins, Weaver Road; nine grandchildren; a half-brother, Robert Weston, Weedsport; nieces and nephews.
"Mr. Weston was born at Limerick June 13, 1886, a son of John and Mary Weston. About 1887 the family moved to Dexter and a few years later to Lysander, where he attended school.
"Later, he returned to Dexter, and in July, 1907, he married Miss Grace Brotherton of Watertown in this city. they lived in Syracuse and Dexter before moving to Watertown in 1911, residing most of the time since at 906 Huntington St.
"He was a moulder for the Bagley & Sewall Co. for 39 years and upon his retirement in 1951 he and his wife moved to the Weaver Road. For about 20 years they spent the summers at their cottage at Three Mile Point.
"For a number of years he was active as a bowler in local leagues. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman." He was buried in N. Watertown cemetery, Watertown, Jefferson, NY. Grace Elizabeth Brotherton and Claude C. "Buck" Weston had the following children:
