Her obituary appeared on 1 Jun 1995 in the Watertown Daily Times of Watertown, Jefferson, NY, as follows: "PRIVATE SERVICE PLANNED FOR SONJA BISHOP, 25. PHILADELPHIA. A private memorial service for Sonja M. Bishop, 25, of 30935 county Route 29, will be at a later date.
"Miss Bishop died Tuesday evening at the home of her parents, Floyd and Ida Bishop, Philadelphia, where she had been under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County. She had been ill with cancer.
"Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the home of her parents.
"Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa.
"Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 425 Washington St., Watertown.
"Surviving are a brother, Brian, Waynesboro, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Tami) Simmons, Hulbert, N.C., and Yvette Bishop, Philadelphia; a niece, two nephews, and aunts, uncles and cousins.
"Born July 1, 1969, in Watertown, a daughter of Floyd C. Jr. and Ida Brotherton Bishop, she graduated from Indian River Central School in 1987.
"She was a secretary for Hull Construction Co., Theresa, was a clerk at Converse Convenience Store, Watertown, and, for the past five years, was a perimetritis at Watertown Eye Center.
"Miss Bishop was a member of Robert Markwick Post 798 American Legion Auxiliary and was the poppy queen in 1981, when she was a junior auxiliary member. She also was a Cub Scout den leader for Pack 67."
