Winifred May Brotherton was born on 28 May 1897 in Edwards, St. Lawrence,
NY. She died on 22 Dec 1983 in Watertown, Jefferson, NY.
Her obituary appeared on 23 Dec 1983 in the Watertown Daily Times of Watertown,
Jefferson, NY, as follows: "Mrs. Anna M. Wyeth, Long Ill, Dies
at 86. Mrs. Anna May Wyeth, 86, formerly of 109 Oak St., widow of Roy M. Wyeth,
died Thursday afternoon at the home of a son, Orlin, 514 Cayuga Ave., following
a long illness.
"A spring graveside service will be at Brookside Cemetery. Arrangements
are with the Reed and Benoit Funeral Home.
"Contributions may be made in her name to the Jefferson County Chapter,
American Cancer Society, or the music fund of the Black River United Methodist
Church.
"She is survived by two sons, Donald R., Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of
1102 Salina St., and Orlin R., 514 Cayuga Ave.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;
a sister, Mrs. Rosella Penniman, Carthage Extended Care Facility, and nieces
and nephews.
"Four brothers and a sister died before her.
"Born May 28, 1897 at Edwards, daughter of Ezra Clark and Elizabeth LaFlair
[sic] Brotherton, she moved to the Antwerp section as a child and attended Antwerp
schools.
"She was married to Roy M. Wyeth on Aug. 30, 1918. Mr. Wyeth, a 37-year
employee of the Niagara Mohawk Power Corp., died Feb. 14, 1982 at the age of
85.
"Mrs. Wyeth was a former member of Bethany United Methodist Church."
She was buried in Brookside cemetery, Watertown, Jefferson, NY. Anna
Winifred May Brotherton and Roy M. Wyeth were married on 30 Aug 1918.
Have not checked to see if Roy and Anna are actually buried in different cemeteries.
Roy M. Wyeth (son of Orville Wyeth and May ___)
was born on 29 Aug 1896 in Woods Mills, Jefferson, NY. He died on
14 Feb 1982 in Watertown, Jefferson, NY. His obituary appeared on
15 Feb 1982 in The Watertown Daily Times of Watertown, Jefferson, NY, as follows:
"Roy M. Wyeth Dies, Ex-Utility Employee. Roy M. Wyeth, 85, of 513 Curtis
St., a retired Niagara Mohawk employee, died Sunday evening in the House of Good
Samaritan, where he was a patient since Dec. 29.
"A private funeral at the convenience of the family will be at the Reed
and Benoit Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery.
"There will be no Calling hours.
"He is survived by his wife, Anna May, Watertown; two sons, Donald R.
and Orlin R., both of Watertown; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
"A sister, Maude Faulkenham, died before him.
"Born in Woods Mills, Aug. 29, 1896, the son of Orville and May Wyeth,
he attended schools in that area and worked on the family farm for several years.
He later served in the Army during World War I.
"Following his discharge, Mr. Wyeth married the former Anna May Brotherton
on Aug. 30, 1918.
"Mr. Wyeth retired Sept. 1, 1961 after 37 years of service in the gas
department of Niagara Mohawk.
"Contributions in Mr. Wyeth's name may be made to the Senior Choir of
the United Methodist Church of Black River or to the American Cancer Society."
He was buried in N. Watertown cemetery, Watertown, Jefferson, NY.
