NY, as follows: "Harold Brotherton, 55, Dies. Gouverneur. --
Harold W. Brotherton, 55, Dallas, Texas, construction company employee, formerly
of the Gouverneur area, died Tuesday morning in Dallas of a heart attack.
"The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Burr-Green Funeral Home
with his brother, Rev. Thomas C. Brotherton, pastor of Hermon Baptist Church,
officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Antwerp.
"Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday afternoon and evening.
"Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Murray (Grace) Raven, Gouverneur, Route
3; two brothers, Rev. Mr. Brotherton, and James F. Brotherton, Ayer, Mass.; an
aunt, Dorothy McIntyre, Syracuse; a great-aunt, Bessie McIntyre, Alexandria bay,
and nieces and nephews.
"Born in Ogdensburg July 3, 1929, son of Harold W. and Grace McIntyre
Brotherton, he was graduated from DeKalb Junction High School in 1947.
"He served in the Army for four years, including two years with occupational
forces in Germany.
"His marriage to Helen Reisenegger Aug. 13, 1955 at DeKalb Junction ended
in divorce on May 24, 1976.
"Mr. Brotherton was employed by Ruderman Machinery Exchange and Balducci
Crushed Stone Co. He later operated a dairy farm on the Richville-DeKalb Road
and worked at Groveton Paper Co. for 17 years.
"Since Dec. 31, 1981, he had lived in Dallas, where he was employed most
recently by Hawkins Construction Co." He was buried in Hillside cemetery,
Antwerp, Jefferson, NY. He served in the military during world war
II. Harold Warner Brotherton Jr. and Helen ___ were married on 13
Aug 1955 in DeKalb Jct., St. Lawrence, NY. "DeKalb Junction
Man Is married to Woman From Munich, Germany. Mrs. Helen Reisenegger of Munich,
Germany and Harold W. Brotherton, jr., son of Mrs. Grace Brotherton and the late
Harold W. Brotherton of DeKalb Junction were married Saturday, August 13 at 2
p.m. by the Rev. Irwin Williams at the parsonage at DeKalb Junction.
"Attendants were the groom's brother Thomas and Mrs. Earl Goodale, of
DeKalb Junction, formerly of Berlin, Germany." They were divorced on 24
May 1976. |
