73. Ezra Clark "Clark" Brotherton was born on 12 Jan 1864 in Theresa, Jefferson, NY. He appeared in the census in 1880 in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY. Shown on page 394D with parents and siblings, and on page 391A, in the household of Harry and Harriet Smith: Clark Brotherton, Other, 16, b. NY. He died on 4 Dec 1929 in Munn's Corners, Jefferson, NY. His obituary appeared on 4 Dec 1929 in the Watertown Daily Times of Watertown, Jefferson, NY, as follows: "E. Clark Brotherton, 65, Munns Corners, Expires. Carthage, Dec. 4.--E. Clark Brotherton, 65, a farmer, died at his home at Munns Corners at 12:30 a.m. today following a long illness.
"He was born in Theresa on Jan. 12, 1864, a son of the late Nathan and Nancy Faulkner Brotherton. Mr. Brotherton resided in Theresa during the greater part of his life, later moving to Antwerp and Edwards. For the past eleven years he had made his home at Munns Corners. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church.
"Surviving are three sons, Harold of Ogdensburg, Howard of Harrisville, and John of Munns Corners, and three daughters, Mrs. Roy Wyeth of Watertown, Mrs. Alva Donaldson of Manistique, Mich., and Mrs. Ervin Clark of Munns Corners.
"Funeral services will be held from the home Friday afternoon at 1:30. Interment will be made in Antwerp cemetery." He was buried in Hillside cemetery, Antwerp, Jefferson, NY.

Ezra Clark "Clark" Brotherton and Elizabeth LaFlair were married on 30 Dec 1884 in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY. "Brotherton-LaFlair.--In Gouverneur, Tuesday, December 30th, 1884, at the residence of Mr. Adam Kilmer, by Rev. W. Dempster Chase, Ezra Clark Brotherton and Elizabeth LaFlair, both of Gouverneur." Elizabeth LaFlair (daughter of Alexander LaFlair and Priscilla ___) was born on 17 Sep 1859 in Merricksville, Ont. Also seen as 1862. She died on 4 Sep 1933 in Deferiet, Jefferson, NY. Her obituary appeared on 5 Sep 1933 in the Watertown Daily Times of Watertown, Jefferson, NY, as follows: "Mrs. Elizabeth Brotherton Dies. Black River, Sept. 5.--Mrs. Elizabeth Brotherton, 73, widow of Clark Brotherton, died about 2 Monday afternoon at the family home near Deferiet.
"She was born in Merrickville, Ont., Sept. 17, 1859, a daughter of the late Alexander and Priscilla LaFleur. When about 19 years old she came to northern New York and was married to Clark Brotherton 48 years ago at Gouverneur. They resided at Gouverneur and Antwerp, moving to Deferiet 14 years ago. Mr. Brotherton died at Deferiet four years ago.
"Mrs. Brotherton once lived at Ogdensburg.
"Surviving are three sons, Harold of Ogdensburg, Howard of Antwerp and John of Deferiet; three daughters, Mrs. Roy Wyeth of Watertown, Mrs. Rose Donaldson and Mrs. Ervin Clark, of Deferiet; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Bristlen of Gouverneur and Mrs. James McLennan, Mrs. Agnes King and Mrs. Amelia Bearuchamps of Canada, and a brother, Alexander LaFleur, of Canada.
"Funeral services will be held from the home Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. E. O. Spaven, pastor of the Bethany Methodist Episcopal church in Watertown, will officiate. Burial will be made in Hillside cemetery in Antwerp." She was buried in Hillside cemetery, Antwerp, Jefferson, NY. Marriage notice shows as LaFlair, as does cemetery listing. Also seen as LaFleur.
