137. Nellie M. Love was born on 22 Feb 1877 in Macomb, St. Lawrence, NY. She died on 8 May 1965 in Syracuse, Onondaga, NY. Her obituary appeared on 10 May 1965 in an unknown newspaper, as follows: "Wife of Lida C. Cobb, 88, Dies. Town of Macomb Native Was Ill Two Years--Funeral Tuesday. Gouverneur, May 10. -- Mrs. Nellie Love Cobb, 88, wife of Lida C. Cobb, died Saturday at 9 p.m. at her home, 23 Dodge place. She had suffered from a heart condition for two years.
"The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Sprague funeral home, with Rev. Stanley E. Brown, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9.
"Surviving are her husband, a son, Donald, Verona; a daughter, Miss Dorothy Cobb, Syracuse; a sister, Miss Birdella Love, Gouverneur; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
"She was born in the town of Macomb Feb. 22, 1877, a daughter of William and Cyrena Neal Love and attended schools at Antwerp and Macomb. She was employed at the local Brainard greenhouse until her marriage to Lida C. Cobb at Gouverneur, April 20, 1898, Rev. W. F. Skinner, pastor, First Presbyterian church, officiating.
"The couple was employed at the Brainard greenhouse and later farmed in the Hermon area. They went to Syracuse in 1925 where Mr. Cobb worked as a carpenter, returning to Lisbon in 1935 where he farmed and did carpentry. They moved to Gouverneur in 1948, Mr. Cobb continuing carpentry until 1953.
"She was a member of Hermon Methodist church and of Unit 2 of Gouverneur First Methodist W.S.C.S." She was buried in Riverside cemetery, Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY.

Nellie M. Love and Lida C. Cobb were married on 20 Apr 1898 in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY. "The Lida C. Cobbs Note Sixtieth Anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Lida C. Cobb of 23 Dodge Place were honored at a family party Saturday evening in observance of their sixtieth wedding anniversary which occurred on Sunday.
"Present at the celebration were their children, Miss Dorothy Cobb of Syracuse and Donald Cobb of Verona, Mr. and Mrs. Gomer E. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Bush and family, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Stiles of Syracuse, and Miss Ella Mae Stiles of Potsdam.
"Lida C. Cobb and Miss Nellie Love were married on April 20, 1898, at the home of the late Walter E. Lytle, Gleason street. The Rev. William F. Skinner, the pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiated.
"The couple first lived in the I. M. Brainard house on Rock Island street. Mr. Brainard operated a greenhouse and market garden and Mr. Cobb was employed as a florist.
"After working at the greenhouse for eight years, Mr. and Mrs. Cobb rented a farm at West Hermon which they operated for eight years. They then bought a farm in the town of Hermon which they operated for eight years. They then bought a farm in the town of Hermon which they ran for six years.
"They sold the farm and Mr. and Mrs. Cobb moved to Syracuse where Mr. Cobb worked as a carpenter until 1929. When the depression set in, Mr. Cobb went to work at the Manlius Military school as a maintenance man, a position he held until 1938.
"The Cobbs then moved to Lisbon where they lived until 1945. The couple moved to Sherill where Mr. Cobb worked for a firm which made advertising displays for two years and then Mr. and Mrs. Cobb took a vacation and came to Gouverneur in 1948." He died on 16 Jun 1969 in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY. His obituary appeared on 16 Jun 1969 in an unknown newspaper, as follows: "Lida C. Cobb Dies at 93. Gouverneur -- Lida C. Cobb, 93, of 23 Dodge Place, former farmer and carpenter, died this morning at 3 at Edward John Noble Hospital where he had been a patient several days.
"The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Burr-Green Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley E. Brown, pastor, United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday afternoon and evening and Sunday evening.
"Surviving are a daughter, Miss Dorothy Cobb, Syracuse; a son, Donald O. Cobb, Sr., Verona; seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
"He was born at DeKalb March 8, 1876, a son of Orman C. and Lucy Ells Cobb. He married Nellie Love, April 20, 1898, at Gouverneur with Rev. William F. Skinner, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
"The couple first lived at Gouverneur where Mr. Cobb worked as a florist for L. M. Brainard for eight years until moving to West Hermon where they operated a farm for eight years. They then purchased a farm in the town of Hermon which they operated for six years.
"Mr. and Mrs. Cobb moved to Syracuse where he worked as a carpenter until 1929 when he went to work at the Manlius School as a maintenance man, a position he held until 1938. the Cobbs moved to Lisbon where they lived until 1945, then moved to Sherrill where Mr. Cobb worked for a firm which made advertising displays.
"In 1948, they returned to Gouverneur and purchased the former Dr. Baker home on Dodge Place.
"Mrs. Cobb died May 8, 1965, shortly after the couple celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.
"Mr. Cobb was a member of the local I.O.O.F. Lodge and of the West Hermon United Methodist Church." He was buried in Riverside cemetery, Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, NY. Nellie M. Love and Lida C. Cobb had the following children:
