Hutchinson and Elizabeth Murphy) was born on 1 Jun 1909 in S. Colton, St. Lawrence, NY. Colton record #542. He died on 28 Jan 2003 in Canton, St. Lawrence, NY. His obituary appeared on 30 Jan 2003 in the Watertown Daily Times of Watertown, Jefferson, NY, as follows: “Clayton Hutchinson. Canton. Clayton L. Hutchinson, 93, of 37 Riverside Drive, formerly of Potsdam, died Tuesday at United Helpers Canton Nursing Home where he had been a resident for the past few months.
“Mr. Hutchinson was employed at The Rexall Store, T.H. Perrin and Co., Potsdam, for a few years before going to work at Niagra Mohawk Power Company, Potsdam, where he worked for 33 years. Through his retirement years, he had a landscaping, gardening and snowplowing business.
“He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and a member of Racket River Masonic Lodge 213, Potsdam. He was also a member of the 25 Year Club of Niagara Mohawk. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at the family camp on Round Pond, South Colton.
“Born June 1, 1909, in South Colton, son of John E. and Elizabeth Murphy Hutchinson, he attended South Colton public school and graduated from Potsdam High School. He also attended electrical engineering classes at Clarkson College, Potsdam.
“He married Wilda Neil on Jan. 1, 1931, in the Potsdam Methodist Church. The couple built their home on Sisson Street and lived there for about 68 years before moving to Canton.
“Surviving besides his wife are a son, Wendell E., South Colton; a daughter Mrs. Phil (Mary) Markert, South Colton; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
“Three children, infant triplets, and a brother, Maurice, died before him.
“The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, with the Rev. Laurence W. Veinott, Lisbon Orthodox Presbyterian Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in South Colton Cemetery.
“Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.” He was buried in S. Colton cemetery, S. Colton, St. Lawrence, NY. Wilda Grace Neil TWIN and Clayton Hutchinson had the following children:
