- SUMMARY: Scrapbooks relating to the history of Jamestown and Chautauqua County, including newspaper clippings, notes and correspondence, biographical data on early settlers, original and transcribed documents, letters, and broadsides. Items include list of civil officers named by Council of Appointment to 1821; Revolutionary War pension applications; lists of War of 1812 soldiers; roll of First Presbyterian Church of Jamestown, also Sunday school class books; material on American Tract Society in Chautauqua County; sermon outlines by Foote.
- SUMMARY: Also transcribed letters of Isaac Foote on the Crown Point expedition of 1755; copy of assessment roll of Town of Ellicott, 1814; petition for Chautauque (sic) County Bank, 1833; roster of officers of 162nd Regiment, New York Militia; documents on incorporation of Village of Jamestown, 1827; papers from local school districts and Jamestown Academy; subscription lists for public and charitable causes; road labor warrants; data on early lumbering. Also correspondence of Joseph Ellicott and John Thomson with Amzi Atwater, 1798-1800, about survey of the Holland Purchase, with instructions for the survey.
- SUMMARY: Foote's political correspondence includes letters from leaders of the anti-slavery movement and the Liberty Party, with lists of abolitionists in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties, proceedings of the Jamestown anti-slavery convention of 1845, and catalogs of anti-slavery books in Jamestown Library. Correspondents include John Dexter, Azariah C. Flagg, D.G. Garnsey, William Peacock, William H. Seward, and Martin Van Buren. There is also Foote's correspondence as postmaster of Jamestown, 1829-41.
- SUMMARY: Not photocopied are a scrapbook on national affairs, a poetry scrapbook, four volumes of land articles from the Holland Land Company, and a ledger of the company for lots articled in present Towns of Sheridan and Hanover, 1805-34.
