Rev. William J. Crow, the present pastor of the First Methodist Protestant Church of Waterloo, was born near the village of Decatur, in DeKalb county, Georgia, February 19, 1873, and taken when very young to live in the city of Atlanta, his parents moving to that city. He received only a common school education. When seventeen years of age, Mr. Crow experienced religion and at eighteen, he felt that God had called him to some kind of active service in his great moral vineyard; so, going through a course of training at Jacksonville, Florida, he became an evangelist, and has worked with considerable success in the States of Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, and New York. In March, 1896, Mr. Crow became connected with the Methodist Protestant Church, and was appointed to the pastorate of the Waterloo Society.
