William T. Shepard

     Pine Grove, Oct 15 – On Wednesday morning last, Oct. 10, 1923, William T. Shepard died suddenly of heart trouble at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George George, aged 76 years. Mr. Shepard was a man of social disposition and his christian life was beyond reproach. The cross has been exchanged for the crown, and the Baptist church at Hawversville, of which he has been a member since his youth, has lost a valued and faithful helper. The pillar has been removed. Funeral services were held from this church Saturday afternoon and the crowded house attested the esteem in which he was held. Rev. Mr. Smith of Preston Hollow delivered a very appropriate sermon from Rev. 22-5. A son, James Shepard, and daughter, Mrs. George George, six grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Orcelia Wood survive him, and to them the sympathy of the community in general is extended in this their hour of sorrow.


     William Shephard, a long-time resident of Hawverville, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wm. George near Crystal Lake, Wednesday, Oct. 10th in his 77th year. He had been in poor health for some time. Mr. Shephard was a man of genial, happy disposition and was a pleasant man to meet. His funeral took place from the Baptist church at Hawverville. he leaves one son and a daughter. he was twice married.
