Wm. Earls Found Dead in Bed
May 13, 1926
William Earls of the town of Broome,
aged 86, was found dead in bed Sunday morning, may 9, at the home of his son in
law, Lyman Debar, where he was stopping. The infirmities of old age were
creeping over him, but he had been in his usual health. To all appearances he
had passed peacefully to rest. he died as he often expressed the wish that he
would.
He was a farmer by occupation, was always industrious
and thrifty. He was a loyal member of the M. P. church and for years was a class
leader. he was twice married. Both wives preceded him to the better land. he is
survived by two sons, Otis and George of Broome, and one brother, Hiram of
Franklinton, and one sister Mrs. Angeline Benjamin of this place. His funeral
took place Tuesday and was largely attended, rev. John Seaman, the new pastor of
the M. P. church, officiating.
