Accident Victim Dies of Injuries
Vernor Cornell Succumbs to Fractured Skull Received When Hit by Car Last Month

Vernor Cornell, aged 62, of Oneida Street succumbed about 6 o’clock yesterday morning to injuries received one month ago last night when he was struck by an automobile while crossing the road near his home. He had been a patient in the Fox Hospital since then, suffering from a fractured skull and other injuries.
His funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday afternoon at the Oneonta Plains Methodist church of which he was a loyal member. Rev. L.A. Dodson of Bethany, Pa., his former pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Jefferson.

The deceased was a son of Henry and Viola (Mickle) Cornell and was born in the town of Gilboa July 31, 1874. He and Miss Malinda Fredenburg were married at Gilboa February 1, 1899 and they had resided at Oneonta Plains since 1925. Mr. Cornell was employed at Cathedral Farms.

He leaves Mrs. Cornell; five sons, and a daughter: Vernor H. Cornell of Gilboa, Arthur Cornell of Unadilla Forks, Freeland, Carl, Marvin, and Miss Fannie Cornell at home; his mother, Mrs. Viola Greer of Meridale; a brother, Ross Cornell of Delancy; a sister, Mrs. Frank Selleck of Meridale; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cornell stood high in the esteem of those who knew him and his family will have the sympathy of many friends in their loss.
