Will of Rasellas Ellis

In the name of God Amen, I Rasellas Ellis of the town of Broome, Schoharie County, N.Y. aged __years and upwards & being of sound mind and memory do make & publish this my last will and testament, in manner following. That is to say
First I give and bequeath to my wife Margaret M. Ellis all of my estate real and personal property during her natural life after the payment of my debts & funeral expenses & after her death all of the household furniture & goods to be equally given and divided between my daughters or to their heirs and assigns. Namely Isabella Church now the wife of Lucious Church of Broome, Scho. Co, N.Y. Ruth Safford wife of Appleton Safford of the town of Broome, Scho. Co. N.Y. and Mary Ett Stedman wife of George Stedman of the town of Broome, Schoharie C. N.Y. and the real estate and personal property above named except the household furniture & goods given to the daughters aforesaid I give & bequeath after the death of my said wife unto my son Newel H. Ellis he to pay all the debts unpaid by me & my said son Newel H. Ellis shall pay to my said daughters Isabella Church, Ruth Safford and Clarence Rivenburgh, son of my dec daughter Harriet Rivenburgh and James Rivenburgh now of the city of Albany city, N.Y. each the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) and to my said daughter Mary Ett Stedman one hundred dollars ($100.00) said legacies each to be paid within two years after the death of myself & my wife . The notes I now hold against my son George W. Ellis with exception of one hundred dollars ($100.) there of at the death of myself & my wife are all to be given over to him and cancelled.
I do hereby nominate and appoint Lucius Church my son in law and Newell H. Ellis my son as Executors of this my last will and testament Dated August 9th 1883.
In witness where of I have hereunto subscribed my name & seal this 9th day of August 1883.

We whose names are hereunto subscribed, do hereby certify that Rasselas Ellis, the testator subscribed his name to this instrument in our presence and in the presence of each of us, and at the same time he declared inour presence & hearing that the same was his last will and testament & requested us to each of us to sign our names thereto as witnesses to the execution thereof & which we have done accordingly in the presence of the Testator & of each other the day of the date of the said will.
