Oscar Loucks obituary

Oscar Loucks, 81, of Schoharie, died Monday, December 29, 2003 at
Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County following a long illness.
Mr. Loucks was born January 25, 1922 in the Town of
Middleburgh, a son of the late Walter and Elnora (Tallman) Loucks.
He was a retired custodian for the Middleburgh Central
School District. He previously worked at the Rotterdam Army Depot and on the
family farm. He served with the US Army during World War II.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #1261,
Schoharie and very active in the American Legion activities for 59 years, He
served as Post Commander for two terms, County Commander for two terms, and was
Sergeant of Arms for the State District for eight years. He attended 15 National
conventions and 47 State conventions.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys (Shultes) Loucks; a
stepson, Virgil Pangburn of Middleburgh; a brother, Clarence Loucks of
Middleburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Nellie Loucks, and a
brother, David Loucks.
