Mrs. Mercy Mattice obituary

May 4, 1933

Mrs. Mercy Mattice died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Danforth, Bainbridge, early Saturday rooming. The deceased was born in the town of Gilboa eighty years ago and married Richard Mattice, also of the town of Gillboa. They resided about two miles from Breakabeen, until the death of Mr. Mattice, about twelve years ago. Since then Mrs. Mattice had lived most of the time at Bainbridge with the daughter. She is survived by four daughters and two sons. Her devotion to her family had been great. Her happiness was greatest when doing for their comfort and pleasure. A sister, Mrs. Helen Richtmyer, also survives. This sister resided at Middleburgh until she fell and hurt herself last autumn and has since been cared for at the Bainbridge hospital. A prayer service was held at the Danforth home at 9 o'clock Monday morning and funeral services were held at Breakabeen in the afternoon, where the remains were placed beside her late husband.
