Mrs. Malinda Cornell, 91, of 42 St. John Street, Walton, died September 27 at Delaware Valley Hospital, where she had been hospitalized about ten months after several years of illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta, with Rev. Lavere A. Dodson, pastor of Otego Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Jefferson.

Mrs. Cornell was born July 10, 1875, in Gilboa, daughter of Hyram and Sally (Simonson) Fredenberg. She was married to Vernor L. Cornell in Gilboa Feb. 1, 1899. He died September 16, 1936. For the past 11 years she had made her residence with her daughter in Walton, and previously had lived in Cooperstown, Oneonta, and Gilboa.

She was a member of the Cooperstown Methodist Church and the Red Creek Valley Grange.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Henry (Fanny) Brookins, Walton; five sons, Vernor H. of Carteret, N.J.; Freeland R. of 4 East End Ave.; Arthur J. of Milford Center Rd.; Carl K. of 9 Park St. and Marvin S. Cornell of Cooperstown; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great grandchild, three nieces, two nephews and a cousin.

The family may call at their convenience at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
