Funeral services for Lawyer J. King, a Middleburgh businessman for 48 years who died at his home Sunday, September 28, 1952, were held at the local Methodist Church, Tuesday, 2PM. The Rev. James A. Perry officiated at the service and burial was made in the Middleburgh Cemetery. Mr. King, who had been in failing health for the past year, is survived by his wife, the former Nora J. Sanford, a Son Clinton King of Hancock; 3 grandchildren and one great grandchild; a brother, Henry King of Voorheesville, and two sisters, Mrs. Gittie Coons of Voorheesville and Mrs. Harriett Russell of Schenectady. Born in Middleburgh, the son of Stephen and Catherine (Warner) King. Mr. King was a cabinetmaker by trade, and in 1904 opened a furniture store in Middleburgh and operated the same through the years. For the past 35 years he was also a real estate broker. Business places throughout the Village of Middleburgh were closed during the funeral services.
