He Was a Good Man

     The death of John P. Loucks Wednesday afternoon, April 26, removes from this place one of its most highly respected citizens. As his death was announced upon our streets sadness came into many a heart and on every hand was heard this one expression, "He was a good man." Born in this town Nov. 23d, 1816, he had reached the advanced age of seventy-six. Mr. Loucks sprung from revolutionary stock, his father's name being Wm. Loucks. With the exception of the past six years he lived upon the farm where he was born and which had been in the family since before the revolution. Upon this farm all of his children were born twelve in number. Of this number nine are living and attended the funeral which took place Saturday from the Reformed church, Rev. F. Wolford officiating, assisted by Rev. Pitcher. The following children are living: Mrs. Alexander .......
