John Edwards

    John Edwards, seventy-four, died of cancer, at his home in Preston Hollow, Sunday night, Aug. 2. Mr. Edwards was born at Oak Hill, town of Durham, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Edwards, and moved to Preston Hollow when a young man. He was a prosperous farmet and had been in his usual good health up to the past year when his health started to fail. He was confined to his bed three weeks. He was a man who had many friends, well liked throughout the community and held in high esteem. He was a member of the Baptist Church at Preston Hollow and was faithful in attendance and support. Funeral was held this afternoon (Wednesday) at 1 o'clock at the late home, Rev. Stanley Smith officiating. Burial in Middleburgh Cemetery. He is survived by his widow, one daughter Mrs. Clinton King of Middleburgh, one son George of Preston Hollow, and a granddaughter Dorcas King of Middleburgh.
