Ira Van Heosen Services Held
Ira R. Van Hoesen of
east Meredith, a former Warnerville resident, died at the Albany Medical Center
on Aug. 18, 1963 after being ill several months.
Mr. Van Hoesen was born at North Harpersfield on Oct.
1, 1888 to Romain and Alice (Travell) Van Hoesen. He lived the greater part pf
his life in Delaware county, but spent some time in this area since his
retirement. During the years of 1951 and 1952 he and his wife resided in
Warnerville, in the residence now owned and occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Lester
Schaffer.
Besides his widow who was formerly Miss Effie Bright,
he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Earl (Ena Bell) Decker of Oneonta, Mrs.
Lester (Virginia) Eckert of Otego and Mrs. Florence Hacklin of Stanaford, and
two sons, Richard of Stamford and Donald of Laurens, besides 16 grandchildren
and two great grandchildren. His eldest son, William, was killed on Feb. 1, 1954
at Korea, Other survivors are a brother, Isaac of Hobart, and Mrs. Bessie France
of Cobleskill.
Funeral services were held at the Hall funeral home in
Stamford last Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert Sprunger, pastor of the
United Presbyterian Church of Davenport, officiating. Interment was in the
Riverside cemetery at Bloomville.
