Irvin L. Brayman obituary

April 1916

After a short illness of pneumonia, Irvin L. Brayman died on Wednesday last. Mr. Brayman will be remembered as a former resident of Schoharie County having been born a child of William Henry and Alzina (Cole) Brayman, on a farm in Broome, in October, 1865. He received his early education at the rural school where Mr. Minton Hulbert of this village was one of his most competent instructors. He later studied at the Schoharie Academy. Deciding to take up the profession of law, he prepared himself in the office of Engle & Getter in this village. He began practicing at Hobart, later removing to Walton, where he attained considerable prominence.
About nine years ago, after a severe nervous breakdown, he was committed to the Binghamton Hospital, where he had been most of the time since.
He was united in marriage to Lottie M., daughter of George Becker, of Fultonham, in October, 1892. Three children were born to them, of whom two, William Henry and George Irving, survive, residing with their mother at Walton, N. Y. He leaves two brothers, Otis, of Penn Yan, and Fred, of Broome, and two sisters, Mrs Ralph Moister, of Central Bridge, and Mrs. William Goodrich, of Broome.
The funeral was held at Walton on April 1st, and interment made in the family plot in the same place.
Irvin had a host of friends who remember him as a most genial gentleman of considerable ability.
