Mrs. Hazel E. Youmans
February 16, 1933

     Mrs. Hazel E. Youmans, wife of John Youmans of Middleburgh, died at the Memorial Hospital, Albany, Friday noon. It was a great shock to the community. She was born in Middleburgh twenty-nine years ago, was very pleasant and friendly and loved by a large circle of friends. She was a member of the M. E. Church. A graduate of Middleburgh High School in the class of 1920 and of the Oneonta Normal in 1922, she taught at Rensselaerville from 1922 to 1924. In 1924 she was married to John Youmans of Fulton. She taught two years at Chazy and two years in Cherry Valley. In 1931 and 1932 she taught the second grade in the Middleburgh school, resigning her position the first of the year. She was vary bright and her work was spoken of in highest terms. On Jan. 30, a daughter, Yvonne Hazel, was born. Funeral was held at the home Monday afternoon, the Rev. George Swart of Richmondville, officiating, assisted by the Rev. George E. Price. Burial in Middleburgh Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, the infant daughter, her father Manly Crosby and a brother John C. Crosby.
