Hattie E. Case Passed Away Monday Morning
She Always Adorned her Profession With A Godly Life
She had Reached Her Seventy-third Milestone - Seven Years Ago She Moved Here

Hattie E. Case, widow of Madison Case, passed
away at her home in this place early Monday morning, Oct. 11. If she had lived
until the 24th of the month she would have reached her 73rd birthday. her maiden
name was Hawver and she was a daughter of Wm. Hawver and Samantha Hay Hawver.
She had been in ill health for some time. For the past ten weeks she had been
confined to her bed. her final ailment was from a clot of blood at the base of
the brain.
The major part of her life was passed at Conesville and
at Broome Centre town of Gilboa. She is survived by two brothers, James B.
Hawver of Otego who was with her during her last illness, and George Hawver of
Coxsackie. Two sisters also survive her, bertha Carpenter of Gerard, pa., and
Mrs. Martha Ferguson of Alton, Illinois. The funeral was held today, Wednesday,
1 p. m. at her late residence on Clauverwie. Burial at Gilboa.
Seven years ago Mr. and Mrs. Case, owing to the
building of the Gilboa dam, gave up their home at Gilboa and came to this place
to live. Nearly five years ago Mr. Case passed away.
Mrs. Case was a member of the Methodist church of
Gilboa and she always adorned her profession with a Godly life. By her death
there has been removed from our midst a beautiful personality and many who have
known her will be saddened by her death.
