Was Member of Methodist Church
Funeral will be held Thursday at House. She Was Seventy-six Years Old
March 1924

     Helen Elmer Bartholomew, wife of the late Albert Becker, died at her home on Wells Avenue Monday at one 0’clock P. M. She suffered a stroke of paralysis on February 1st and had been tenderly cared for by her daughter, Mrs. Frazier Becker, and her son, Rev. C. W. S. Becker.         Her daughter, Alberta, and Mrs. Martha Becker and Mrs. C. W. S. Becker also assisted in her care.
     Mrs. Becker was born in Blenheim March 21st, 1848. For fifty years she had been a resident of this town. During all this time she was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, first in Huntersland and later in this village. She was faithful to the end.
     Mrs. Becker is survived by one brother, Hamilton Bartholomew of Blenheim; by one son, rev. Charles W. S. Becker of Amsterdam; and by six daughters, Mrs. Frasier Becker of Schenectady, Mrs. Albert Apel of Brooklyn, Mrs. Nellie Ayres of Merchantville, N. J., Mrs. Mande Edwards and Mrs. Amy Willer of South Hampton and Mrs. Laura Vores of Brewster. One son Ward L. Becker died three years ago.
     The funeral will be held from her late home Thursday at 2 P. M. and will be conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. M. Cass. Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Shufelt and Mrs. Dorr Bulson will sing. The bearers will be George B. Wheeler, Philip Sherman, Chester Wilson and W. H. Bevins. Interment in Middleburgh Cemetery.
     Dr. C. S. Best and her pastor and her neighbors rendered Mrs. Becker a service for which her children are grateful.
