ONEONTA — Mrs. Fannie C. Brookins, 91, of Oneonta, formerly of Walton, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, at the A.O. Fox Nursing Home, Oneonta, where she had lived since April 2000. 

She was born April 25, 1910, in Blenheim, the daughter of Vernor L. and Malinda (Fredenburg) Cornell.

She married Henry Franklin Brookins on Dec. 25, 1942, in West Oneonta. Mr. Brookins predeceased her in April 1977.

Fannie was a bookkeeper at Runnell's Lumber Yard for 31 years.

She is survived by a stepdaughter, Phyllis Miller of Ouaquaga; a stepson and his wife, Lee and Elenore Brookins of Unadilla; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Fannie was predeceased by a son-in-law, Richard Miller on Nov. 8, 2000, and five brothers, Vernor H. Cornell, Freeland Cornell, Arthur Cornell, Carl K. Cornell and Marvin Cornell.

Funeral and committal services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Lyon Bros.-Way, Inc. Funeral Home, 102 Delaware St., Walton, with the Rev. Chevelle Phillips, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Walton, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time. 

It has been requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the United Methodist Church of Walton, 101 North St., Walton, NY 13856 in loving memory of Fannie C. Brookins. 

Funeral arrangements are by Lyon Bros.-Way, Inc., Walton.
