     After an illness which covered more than a year, Mrs. Anna R. Mattice, wife of Edward P. Mattice, of Fultonham, entered into rest on Thursday morning last, aged about 48 years. During her long affliction she exhibited true Christian fortitude and gratitude to the members of her family, who ministered to her. She was the daughter of the late Daniel H. Bouck, of Fultonham, born within a short distance of the home where she lived since her marriage.
     She was a member of the Reformed Church of this village, devoted to its welfare as well as to her home and family.
     She was a member of Onistagrawa Chapter, O. E. S., of this village, and of the Order of Amaranth at Schoharie. In both she had been honored with official position and was much beloved by her sisters.
     She is survived by her husband, her sorn, Ralph Mattice, three brothers, Rev. Elliot, William and Harley Bouck, and one sister, Mrs. Martha Sitterly.
     The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon from her late home Rev. G. Z Collier, her pastor, officiating.

Lines on the Death of Mrs. Edward P. Mattice
March 1920

     The following lines were composed and written in loving remembrance of my sister, Mrs. Edward P. Mattice, of Middleburgh, who passed from this life into the great beyond, March 18, 1920. Mrs. Martha Bouck Sitterly, Richmondville, N. Y.:

     When all nature awoke on that fair spring morn,
     And the busy world was still,
     The angels came from the spirit world
     To bear our loved one home.

     We watched by her side thro’ the lone night hours,
     And walked on the river’s brink,
     Then we loosed our grasp from the hand we held,
     While she was borne from sight.

     While springtime goes, and summer comes, and autumn winds blow chill,
     Mem’ry goes back to by gone days when we played on the hill,
     “As we long for the touch of a vanished hand and the sound of a voice that is still,”
     We bow in submission to Him who said, “Peace be still.”

     There’s a veil between time and eternity thro’ which we cannot see,
     Waft away, ye gentle zephyrs, and bring us a message from thee.
     We’ll watch and wait, thro’ the coming years, ‘till Jesus shall lift the veil,
     Then face to face, with our Lord at last, and our loved ones forever we’ll dwell.
