Notes

Willoughby - March 19, 2007

My maiden name was Willoughby and I can tell you for certain that the Gladys M, who is listed, is the daughter of James (the one born in 1881). James was my grandfather (my father having been his eldest son). He also had a second wife, Elsie, who I believe is also buried in the cemetery, along with a few other children who passed on. I can identify those children if you feel the need for further information.

Lillian (Alpaugh) Chase, Menzo W. Chase - February 20, 2012

I have the following obituaries for individuals said to be buried at this cemetery. Can you tell me if their gravesites are actually there? And if their names should be added to the index for Dorloo Cemetery?   Kathryn Hill

"MRS. LILLIAN CHASE. Mrs. Lillian Chase, widow of the late Menzo Chase, died Saturday evening, March 10 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl A. Alpaugh. She had been in failing health for several years. Mrs. Chase was born April 2, 1870 in Otego the daughter of Samuel B. Brooker and Laney (Spurbeck) Brooker. Part of her married life, she lived in Dorloo and was a member of the former Dorloo baptist church, but for the past eighteen years she made her home with her daughter, where her husband died in 1939. Funeral services were held at the Ottman Funeral Home on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Charles M. Fulton of Richfield Springs officiating. Burial will be in the Dorloo cemetery in the spring ..." ["Otsego Farmer & Republican" (Cooperstown, NY), Fri., Mar. 16, 1951, Page Nine]
