Brainard M. White Obituary

January 1921

     Brainard M. White died on Wednesday, January 19, at 6 o'clock p. m. at the Auburn hospital of peritonitis following an operation for appendicitis.
     If he had lived until March 11, he would have been 38 years of age.
     He was buried Sunday at 1:3O from the house near Aurora. The Rev. Weaver of the Presbyterian church of Scipioville, Cayuga county, officiating The house was filled to overflowing with friends and relatives. The large display of beautiful flowers showed the high esteem in which he was held. Burial was at Evergreen cemetery at Scipioville.
     Mr. White spent three years as buttermaker for the Broome Center creamery. For eleven years he ran the skimming station at Breakabeen and during the years 1918 and 1919 was the town clerk of the town of Fulton. Sixteen years ago while at Broome Center he was united in marriage to Miss Mattie Becker of Breakabeen. Last spring with his family he moved to Aurora, where he was working his uncle's farm.
     He is survived by his wife and three children, Mary aged 15, Francis aged 12, and Coral aged 10; also one brother, Erwin of Auburn; one sister Miss Bernice White of New York city besides a host of friends in this section as well as in Cayuga county to mourn his loss.
