Will of Abram S. Rich
probated January 28, 1856

In the name of God, Amen. I Abram S. Rich of the town of Esperance in the County of Schoharie and State of New York, being of sound mind and memory, blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my last will and testament.

1st. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Esther M. in addition to her dower, all my household furniture and one cow.

2nd. I give and bequeath to each of my two daughters, Mary C. and Loretta I., three hundred dollars, two young cattle and two milch cows to be paid to them respectively when they shall arrive at the age of twenty one years.

3rd. I give, bequeath and devise to my son George S. all that part of my farm lying on the north side of the public highway and known as the forty acre lot, and also the small lot of about seven acres lying on the south side of the public highway, and known as the Banner or school house lot. Also the equal and undivided one half of all the barn buildings to come into the possession of the same, when he shall arrive at the age of twenty one years, subject however to the right to dower of my beloved wife Esther M.

4th. I give, bequeath and devise to my son Theodore S. all that part of my farm lying on the south side of the road (excepting the small lot given to George S.) and also the equal one half of the barn buildings thereon subject also to the legal right of dower of my beloved wife Esther M.

5th. And as to the residue and remainder of my property and estate of whatsoever kind and nature, I give bequeath and devise the same to my two sons equally whatever may be left of the same after my debts and the expenses of this my last will shall be paid.

6th. I hereby make, constitute and appoint my beloved wife Esther M. Guardian of all my children who shall be under the age of twenty one years at my decease.

7th. I hereby make constitute and appoint my beloved wife Esther M and my friends Jacob Young and Francis Miller the Executors of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, and publish and decree this to be my last will and testament in presence of the witnesses named below this 16th day of November, A. D. 1855
