In the name of God, Amen. I Abraham Richtmyer of the town of Cobleskill in the County of Schoharie and State of New York being through the abundant mercy of Almighty God in perfect health and sound understanding and memory, do constitute this my last will and testament, and desire that it may be received as such.

First, I commit my soul to God who gave it beseeching his most gracious acceptance of it through the all sufficient merits and mediation of our redeemer Jesus Christ who forever liveth to make intercession for all those who have faith in him, and whom he will not reject when they come to him for mercy.

Second, it is my will that after my decease that my body be decently interred by my executors herein named, and that my funeral expenses and just debts be firstly paid and satisfied out of my personal estates.

Third, I give and devise unto my kind and affectionate wife Christina the use and occupation of the farm of land upon which I now reside, situate, lying and being in the town of Cobleskill and County of Schoharie, containing two hundred acres more or less, during her natural life, in lieu of dower. I also give and bequeath unto my wife all my household furniture and all the interest due and to become due annually upon all sums of money secured to be paid to me by notes, bonds, mortgages, judgments or other securities during her natural life. It being my will that my executor hereinafter named shall continue and keep on interest all such sums of money as I may have on interest at the period of my decease during the natural life of my said wife; and annually collect the interest of the same and pay it over to be expended by her at discretion. And after the death of my said wife Christina my executors hereinafter named are directed to collect the principle and interest then due or to become due upon the securities aforesaid and those that may be taken by them in obedience of this my will and pay over the same to my grand-son Jeremiah Richtmyer.

Fourth, I give and devise to my only son, David A. Richtmyer, the farm of land on which he now resides, situate lying and being on the Great Western Turnpike road in the town of Carlisle in the County of Schoharie, containing one hundred and four acres of land be the same more or less to have and to hold the said farm of land unto the said David A. Richtmyer, his heirs and assigns forever subject to the payment of six hundred dollars to my grandson Jeremiah Richtmyer provided he shall refuse on being reasonably requested by my said grandson to convey to him, by good and sufficient warranty deed, executed and acknowledged by him and his wife, of all the lands heretofore conveyed by me to the said David A. Richtmyer, being ten acres of land more or less of the farm on which I now reside and by this will devised to my said grandson. On such conveyance being duly made, it shall operate as an extinguishment and satisfaction of the said six hundred dollars anything herein to the contrary notwithstanding.

Fifth, I give and devise to my grandson, Jeremiah Rightmyer after my wife�s decease the Farm of land I now reside upon, situate, lying and being in the town of Cobleskill in the County of Schoharie, containing two hundred acres of land to be the same more or less. To have and to hold the same farm of land together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Jeremiah Richtmyer his heirs and assigns forever subject to the payment of one thousand dollars to my granddaughter Lois when she shall arrive at the age of twenty one years. I also give and bequeath unto my grandson Jeremiah Richtmyer all my horses and farming utensils, and after my wife�s decease all sums of money in the hands of my executors secured to be paid to me by notes, bonds, mortgages, judgments or other securities taken by my executors on the re-loan of any moneys belonging to my estate. It is my further will that if in case my said grandson should happen to die without issue then it is my will that the farm on which I now reside shall belong and remain the absolute property of my son David A. Richtmyer his heirs and assigns forever.

Sixth, I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Lois one thousand dollars lawful money of the United States of America to be paid to her by my grandson Jeremiah Richtmyer on her becoming twenty one years old. And to the honest and faithful payment of which sum to her I have pledged the whole farm on which I now reside. I also give and bequeath to my said granddaughter the usual outfit given to young women on their marriage, to wit, a marriage dress, two cows, ten sheep, bed, bedstead and bedding, cooking utensils, pots kettles, pails, cups and saucers, knives & forks, looking glass etc. etc. to be found and provided by my grandson Jeremiah Richtmyer shortly after her marriage.

Seventh, I give and bequeath to my kind sister in law Charity Sipperly, the use and occupation of the north room now occupied by her in the dwelling house on the farm where I now reside during her natural life or marriage. It is also my will, and I do hereby order it, that my grandson Jeremiah Richtmyer shall support and maintain my said sister in law in the same manner she is now supported and maintained by me during her natural life or marriage.

Eighth, I give and devise the rest and residue of my estate both real and personal to my wife Christina and my said grandson Jeremiah to be equally divided between them, share and share alike.

Ninth, it is my will that all my household furniture mentioned in the third clause of this instrument pass to my wife absolutely to dispose of in such as she may at any time think proper, except the clock & loom.

Lastly, I do nominate and appoint my trusty friends John Kilmer Junior, George G. Rickert and Jeremiah Richtmyer my grandson of the town of Cobleskill Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty second day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named Abraham Richtmyer to be his last will and testamentin the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the Testator.
