MATTHEW H. BURTON, M. D. was born in Albany, March 16, 1833. He graduated from the Albany Medical College in 1853, and located in Troy. He is a member of the Rensselaer County Medical Society; was its president in 1870, is a permanent member of the New York State Medical Society and the American Medical Association. He was for fifteen years attending physician and surgeon to Troy hospital; was coroner during 1858, '59, '60, and for nine years past has been health officer of the city of Troy. He is surgeon of 3d Division National Guard, State of New York. In June, 1858, he married Frances L., daughter of Anthony Seiler, of Troy.
