Due to the large amount of requests and correspondence received through this office, we must ask researchers to fill out this request form before a search is initiated.  Researchers who are able to come to the records center in person may research free of charge.

 1.   SEARCH FEE- $5.00 per record request.  Each individual type of record listed    below constitutes a record request.  This includes uncertified copies, transcribed copies, or notification of no record.  Copies are $0.50/ each and postage is $1.00.

NOTE: Vital record requests must be made with the City, Village or Town Clerk where the event took place.  The County of Oswego maintains no vital records.
 

Census Records
 Oswego County Censuses are available for the following years:
 1820, 1850, 1855, 1860, 1865, 1870, 1875, 1880, 1892, 1905, 1915, & 1925

Naturalization Records
 Oswego County Naturalizations are available beginning in 1829. The records from 1829   to1906 contain only minimal information.  After 1906 the complete naturalization records   are available up until 1957.

Cemetery Records
 A compilation of over 170 cemeteries in Oswego County is available for search.

City Directories-  Oswego and Fulton
 Oswego Directories from 1869 - 1998, and Fulton Directories from 1903 - 1998.

Marriage License Records - 1908 to 1935 only
 Marriage Licenses are available from 1908 - 1935 only.  These were the only vital records   that the Oswego County government was mandated to keep.

Misc. Records
 These records include various published histories related to Oswego County, family   histories, County Historian correspondence file, etc.
