MRS JULIA SMITH

DIES AT HOME OF SON

   Mrs. Julia Elizabeth Smith, 81, died Friday at the home of her son, Elton F. Smith in Utica.  She had been in fairly good health until she was taken seriously ill early last week Tuesday.  She was born in the town of Albion on August 26, 1862 to Hiram and Martha Beldon Norton.  In 1891 she was married to Lyman B. Smith.

   Mrs. Smith is survived by three sons, Clarence L. Smith, Elton F.,  and DeWitt F.; also seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

   She was an active member of Pulaski Baptist Church and its organizations.  She always had a pleasant
word and cheery smile for everyone and will be greatly missed by both old and young.

   Funeral services were held Monday at the Taylor Funeral home at 1:45 and at the Baptist Church at
2:00 o'clock, Rev. Clifton Bohanan officiating.  Burial was in Albion Center cemetery.

LYMAN B. SMITH

    In the town of Richland, NY about three miles south of Pulaski, February 15,1902, after a long illness which was patiently borne Lyman Beecher Smith passes peacefully away.

    He was a son of Issac T. and Annis Frost Smith.  Was born near Peekskill, NY, June 15 1845.  Removed with his father to Albion, Oswego county, in 1866.  Was actively engaged in lumbering and farming.  He served the town in official duties as highway commisoner and supervisor for several years.

   In 1899 he removed to the town of Richland.  In 1873 he married Mary S. Norton with whom he lived happily for seventeen years, when he was called to mourn her loss.  In 1891 he was married to Julia E. Norton, who has been spared to care for him through the weary days and months that he has suffered as only a devoted wife could do.

   Besides his wife he leaves three young sons, five brothers, seven sisters, and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn the loss of an affectionate husband and loving father, a kind friend and an obliging neighbor.

   The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. B. Felt, of Pulaski, at the home of the deceased, February 19 Burial at Albion Centre cemetery.
