Obituary: Oswego County Whig May 8,1844

Died__ In this village on Sunday the 5th just. Wealthy Melissa, youngest 
daughter of Elihu and Sybel Doolittle, aged 15 years and 8 months.
            "But is she dead ? Ah,no! She lives:
                Her nobler spirit flies
             To worlds of bliss, where Jesus gives
                The life that never dies."

Note: Born September 9, 1828 died May 5,1844.

Obituary:Oswego Palladium  April 21,1846

                                     Died,
    In this village, on the 15th just, Sybel, wife of Elihu Doolittle, aged 62 years.

    Her duty done, as drops the clay,
     The spirit's gained it's full release;
    While guardian Angels sweetly say,
      Blessed is she who dies in peace.

Note: Sybel Dawson born March 5, 1785. Died April 15,1846.
