Charles E. Caulfield

Charles E. Caulfield, only son of Mrs. Anna Caulfield, died this morning after a lingering illness.  Mr. Caulfield was twenty-eight years old and was born in this city.  He received his early education in the public schools of the city, after which he attended Seton Hall College, where he completed his education.  After leaving college about six years ago, he obtained a position with the Sawyer Lumber Company, of North Tonawanda, in whose employ he remained until about a year ago, when he was taken sick with typhoid pneumonia and had to sever his connection with the compnay.  He never fully recovered from the attack and last winter took a trip to Denver, Colorado, in the hope that the change of climate might restore his health.  He came home last Spring and apparently improved, but this Fall he was again taken sick and had been confined to the house up to the time of his death.  Mr. Caulfield was a young man of exemplary habits, bright, industrious and had a host of friends in this city as well as in Tonawonda, who will be pained to learn of his death.  HIs mother and sisters have the sympathy of the community in their sad bereavement.
