Obituary of Rebecca White Calkins

The obituary pertains to Rebecca White Calkins, the second wife of Jesse Elliott Calkins of Oswego county. Jesse died in Oswego county in 1920. I personally know Jesse and Rebecca's granddaughter who is still living at the age of 90. I descend from Jesse's eldest brother, Charles Salmon Calkins, and have worked many, many hours on the Calkins genealogy. Currently I have located all of the children of Russel C and Pamelia Price Calkins (eleven were born, but one died at age 2) and many of their descendants.

Mrs. Calkins of Chadwick Dies at Age of 88 Years
Funeral Services Were Held This Afternoon at Pulaski, NY

Mrs Rebecca Calkins, 88, well known county resident, died Sunday afternoon at the home of her son, Dr A. A. Calkins, in Chadwick. Her death followed a brief illness. The remains had been shipped to Pulaski, NY.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at Pulaski, with burial in a cemetery there. Dr. Calkins accompanied the remains. The deceased was born July 7, 1941 in New York State. She has resided with her son at Chadwick for the past
nine years following the death of her husband which occurred in March 1920.

Surviving are two sons, H.J. Calkins of St Paul, Minn, and Dr A. A. Calkins of Chadwick, many relatives and friends.
