for the last year, and here are a number of them that deal with Oswego

This Indenture made this
twenty-ninth day of April
in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven
Between the “Rome and Oswego
Road Company of the
first part and Joseph Blazier
of the Town of Williamstown in the
County of Oswego and State
of New York of the second part Witnesseth that the said party of the first
part in consideration of
the sum of One hundred and twenty five Dollars in hand paid by the said
party
of the second the receipt
whereof is hereby confirmed and acknowledged have bargained sold remised
and
Quit claimed and by these
presents do bargain sell remise and quit claim unto the said party
of the second part and to
his heirs and assigns forever All that certain piece of land lying in the
said town of Williamstown
being part of lot no 121 in township no 5 of Scriba’s Patent bounded as
follows beginning at a point
in the center of the Rome & Oswego road where the South East line
crosses the same runs thence
N 29° 30’ W five chains ten links along the center of said road
thence south 60°30’
W four chains to the said SE line of said lot 121 thence S 67°
E along said
S E line six chains forty
six links to the place of Beginning containing one acre & 2/100 of
an
acre of land being the same
premises conveyed to said company by Charles Rice by Deed
dated December 16, 1847.
Together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances
thereunto belonging or in
anywise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remaind
-ers rents issues and profits
thereof and all the estate right title interest ? and demand
whatsoever of the said party
of the first part either in law or equity of in or to the above bargained
premises with the said hereditaments
and appurtenants to Have and to hold the said above described
and released premises to
the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to the sole and
only ?
benefit and behoof of the
said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. In Witness
whereof the party of the
first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first
above written To wit:

L. McWhorter is President and the said Henry Matthews Secretary
of the Rome & Oswego
Road Company: That the seal affixed to the within Indenture is the
corporate
seal of said Company and
was affixed to said instrument by order of Senators of said
Company & that they
did respectively by their order subscribe their names to such Indenture
as
President & Secretary
of said Company which is to me satisfactory evidence of the due execution
of said Indenture

Sarah his wife of the first part and
Joseph Blazier of the town
County and State aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth that
the said party of the first
part in consideration of the sum of thirty Dollars to them duly paid
have sold and by these presents
do grant and convey to the said party of the second part his
heir and assigns All
that tract or parcel of land situate in the town of Williamstown aforesaid
being a part of lot number
One hundred and thirty four in township number five Scriba’s Patent
Beginning on the North line
of said lot (134) at the South East corner of a lot now owned
by the said party of the
second part and running thence along the said North line of (134)
North 69° West six chains
thirty one links thence South 61° West two chains thirty links
thence south 69° East
six chains thirty one links thence North 61° East two chains thirty
links to the place of Beginning
containing on acre and eighty rods of land
With the appurtenances and
all the estate title and interest therein of the said party of the
first part and the said
Samuel Freeman does hereby covenant and agree to and with the
said party of the second
part his heirs and assigns that the premises thus conveyed in the quiet
and peaceable possession
of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns will forever
Warrant and Defend against
any person whomsoever lawfully claiming the same or any part
thereof.

the same. And the said Sarah Freeman on a private
examination by me apart
from her husband acknowledged that she executed the same
freely and without any fear
or compulsion of her said husband

part, and Hiram Taylor 2nd
of the town, county and state aforesaid, of the
second part Witnesseth,
That the said party of the first part, in con-
sideration of the sum of
Forty Five Dollars to them duly paid, have
sold, and by these presents
do grant and convey to the said party of the second
part his heirs and assigns,
All that tract or parcel of land, situate in the town
of Williamstown aforesaid
being apart of lot number one hundred and
thirty four, in township
number five, Scriba’s Patent, Beginning on the north
line of said lot (134) at
the south eat corner of a lot now owned by
Icabod Allen and running
thence along the said north line of (134) north
60° west six chains,
thirty one links, thence south 61° west two chains thirty
links, thence south 69°
east six chains thirty one links, thence north 61°
east two chains thirty links
to the place of beginning containing one acre
and eighty rods of land.
With the Appurtenance, And all the estate, title
and interest therein of
the said party of the first part. And the said Harriet
L. Blazier & Sarah A.
Rowland do hereby covenant and agree to and with
the said party of the second
part, his heirs and assigns, that the premises
