Lawson R. Muzzy was born at Deep River River, Mass., March 3, 1846; son of the late Rev. Lawson Muzzy; came to this village when four years of age; left then and returned November 1, 1869, as proprietor of the Democrat. For nearly two years previous to coming here he was employed in the office of the Mexico Independent as compositor and local reporter. While a resident of this village, Mr. Muzzy was a tower of strength in all that pertained to the welfare of the town.  He was devoted to the Baptist church and all the moral and religious institutions of the community.  He was twice honored by the town with the election to the office of supervisor, and was appointed by President Harrison to the position of postmaster in 1890, which office he held for four years.  During Mr. Muzzy's administration as editor he was alert for everything which would make his paper the true exponent of enterprise and thrift.  Since his retirement he has spent but little time in Pulaski.  His home is now in Gowanda, NY, where his daughter, Mrs. G. F. Adams, resides.  Mr. and Mrs. Muzzy are spending the summer at Ashbury Park, New Jersey.
