The Museum at the Shacksboro Schoolhouse is administered by McHarrie's Legacy, Inc., a historic preservation organization established in 1978.  It is located in a restored 19th century country schoolhouse in the Village of Baldwinsville. 

The Museum houses special exhibitions and remarkable period photographs specific to the greater Baldwinsville area, including the Towns of Lysander and Van Buren.  Local artifacts and historically significant items are also on display.

Driving and walking tours are available.  Various items are for sale at the Museum's gift shop.

Gazette and Farmers' Journal, Centennial Edition, 1846-1946.  Includes index.  NOT FOR SALE.

Gazette and Farmers' Journal, 50th Anniversary, 1846-1896.  No index.  NOT FOR SALE.  This edition has quite a few quality pictures of Civil War Veterans.

Various other materials are also available for research.

The Lesley E. Voorhees Records, Van Buren - Baldwinsville - Lysander Area Cemetery Inscriptions and Burial Records, Volume 1, Lesley E. Voorhees, compiler; Alice Laughlin Arneson, editor (Syracuse, New York: History’s People, Inc., 1965).   $7.95.

This book is a required addition to any Baldwinsville area researcher!  In 1994, Ms. Arneson donated the remaining copies of this book to McHarrie's Legacy.   This research guide is only available for purchase through the Museum.

History of Baldwinsville, $5.00.

Early History of the Town of Van Buren, $6.00.
