General Notes:
Learned the trade of a printer in the office of J. S. and C. Adams at Amherst; settled in Lenox, 1838, where he was publisher of the "Mass. Eagle." at that time the organ of the Whig party in Berkshire Co. After a few years he removed the paper to Pittsfield; in 1854 he removed to Hartford; afterwards lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., Fairhaven, Boston and other places; engaged in the manufacture and sale of printing presses and paper cutting machines of his own invention.
