Birth date: June 24, 1753 is from the town register. The church record says that he was baptized Jun 17, 1753. An old diary records, sometime inthe '70's, "Gideon Graves caught a buck alive." In 1782 he enlisted for the war, and diedwhile in the army; had seen much service previous to that date.
