The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall USA website is dedicated to honoring those who died in the Vietnam War. Since it first went on line in 1996 it has evolved into something more. It is now also a place of healing for those affected by one of the most divisive wars in our nation's history.
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. |
The Gulf War Society started in 1997 when three friends put on a small display at an M.V.T Military show. Since then things have grown considerably and we now display vehicles and uniforms from all nations that took part, including various coalition and Iraqi weapons and equipment.
Our Department of Defense reports that Iraq holds some of our brothers as Prisoners of War, and they must be brought home. Gulf War veterans of 1991 have lived and fought in this area since 1991 and it has impacted hundreds of thousands of soldiers whose wounds may be harder to see than a gunshot wound, but are no less severe.The NGWRC understands that once the order to deploy is given the soldier must make do with the equipment, policies and procedures that exist. That is where we can and will help. We will be there for those veterans who return from this war should it happen, and we have insured that the deficiencies have been noted so there will be no denials and no delay should they become injured
Approximately 195,000 U. S. service members have been identified as participants in the post-World War II occupation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan following the atomic bombing of Japan. In addition, approximately 210,000 mostly military members are confirmed as participants in U.S. atmospheric nuclear weapons tests between 1945 and 1962 in the United States and the Pacific and Atlantic oceans prior to the 1963 Limited Test Ban Treaty. Largely as a result of epidemiological studies of Japanese atomic bomb survivors, exposure to radiation has been associated with a number of disorders including leukemia, various cancers and cataracts. VA provides special priority enrollment for health-care services to "atomic veterans" for radiation-related conditions. In addition, these "atomic veterans" are eligible to participate in the VA ionizing radiation registry examination program.
