There is a destiny that makes us brothers, No one goes his way alone; All that we send into the lives of others, Comes back into our own.

New York has one of the largest, most diverse poplulations in the world; where there are peoples of almost every nationality chose to make their home.

And so I thought it would be a great idea to add 'The Ethnic Experience' to to the Nassau County History web pages.

The object is to further awareness, heighten understanding & learn about other cultures and races. To learn and understand their thoughts, ideas, traditions and contributions to our country and society.

Education helps to dispel any feelings of fear, prejudice and hate.

The only way we'll get freedom for ourselves is to identify ourselves with every oppressed people in the world.
~Malcolm X~

Don't wait for Black History month, or Rememberance Day (Holocaust) or St. Patrick's day or Columbus day etc. to learn about the different ethnic cultures within our society.

Freedom! Equality! Brotherhood!
~ French Revolution Motto ~

What you will find on 'The Ethnic Experience' pages are each nationality's Flag, Music, Genealogy help pages, Famous people, some recipes (my personal favorite), and whatever else I find. If you have something that you would like to see here please let me know. These pages will be worked on as time allows. I hope that you enjoy them.

Freedom is the sure possession of those alone who have the courage to defend it.
