LEE - GRAHAM

Barb Iversen Mon Oct 15 20:47:12 2001
Can anyone help me find my 3rd great-grandfather? His name is Philip LEE. He married Sally GRAHAM in 1830, when he was 70. He had 3 sons before he died in Jan. 1836. He was a Rev. War. patriot and is buried in the West Eaton Cemetery in Madison County, NY. His oldest son, George Philip was born Feb. 10, 1831 in Eaton, Madison County, NY. He was my 2nd great-grandfather. Supposedly, Eaton was first named "Leeville" after Philip. The first US Census in 1790 shows Philip LEE living in NY. Can someone help me unravel this mystery? Can anyone find a birth record for George Philip LEE? Who are the parents listed for him? It should be Philip LEE and Sally GRAHAM. Please help me. Thank you.

McSTAY - WOOD - KEYSER - ENGLISH - JACKSON

Carole Dilley Thu Dec 6 06:55:21 2001
The 1820 NY Fed. Census lists Peter McSTAY as head of household in Eaton, with two older women, 5 children under 10 and two young adults. I believe Anthony McSTAY, his son, and Anthony's wife, Betsy WOOD, were living with Peter, along with their children. The family came from Ireland sometime between 1810 and 1819.

Anthony McSTAY'S son James was born in Ireland in 1809 but at least two* of his three daughters - Mary Ann (b. 1815), *Margaret (b. 1816) and *Eleanor (b. 1825) were born in New York State. There are no McSTAYs listed in the 1810 or 1830 census reports for Madison County. By 1830 the Anthony McSTAYS had moved to London , Ontario. Mary Ann married Thomas ENGLISH, Margaret married Jacob Henry KEYSER, James married Sarah ? and Eleanor married Thomas JACKSON. There may also have been a daughter named Sarah who may have married Robert JACKSON, Jr.

I am seeking information concerning the McSTAY and WOOD families. It's quite possible that Peter and his wife Mary may be buried in or near Eaton. Likewise, Anthony and Betsy (WOOD) McSTAY may also have died there. Any information regarding McSTAY deaths or the births of Eleanor, Margaret and any other McSTAY children would be sincerely appreciated
